At Bethany Lutheran we have a long and proud tradition of ministering to families in the Lakewood/Long Beach area, but from the beginning our mission has remained the same: To inspire lifelong learning and cultivate Christian character. Our students are well prepared for high school and beyond, and are frequently recognized for their academic achievements, as well as their character, and excellence in their chosen educational programs. Both of our “kids” attended Bethany Lutheran School. Our daughter attended UCSD for her undergraduate degree and received a Master’s in Speech Pathology from San Diego State. Our son attended CSULB for his undergraduate degree and received a JD from Chapman Law School. We attribute a good portion of their success to the strong foundation that they received at Bethany.

Not only did I attend Bethany as a child, but now I have my two sons enrolled currently. They have been there since preschool and will be there until eighth grade. Bethany is wonderful on so many levels – it's curriculum, its emphasis on arts/music/play, it's diversity, class sizes, etc. But perhaps more than anything, the extraordinary community that is Bethany (faculty, administrators, fellow parents) is one in which your child will not get lost and will be uplifted for exactly who she/he is.
My kids attended Bethany from preschool to 8th grade. My oldest is now off to college and my youngest is a high school sophomore. Both are following their goals and dreams and up to this day, they hold Bethany close to their heart. They still wear their confirmation crosses as an anchor of their faith. Thank you, Bethany school, church and all mentors for helping our familia grow with a strong foundation! Blessed indeed!
